The "Smart Silver" Enriched ICT Training Programme for the Elderly (Training Programme) has been implemented since 2019. The two rounds of the Training Programme launched in February 2019 and December 2021 have both concluded successfully, with positive feedback from elderly participants. Therefore, we are launching a new round of the Training Programme in 2024.
In October 2023, Elder Academies were invited to submit applications, and after selection by the review committee, the chosen applications will commence the Training Programme in February 2024 for a duration of two years.
Elderly individuals aged 60 or above with basic ICT knowledge.
Each funded Elder Academy offers various types of ICT courses. In addition to commonly used government mobile applications such as "iAM Smart", the training topics include smart healthcare, online shopping, mobile payments, Mainland mobile apps frequently used by the elderly, social media, e-wallets, and cybersecurity.
